Abstract

A simple mathematical model for the flow of aqueous humor in posterior chamber of the eye has been presented. The model treats the posterior chamber bounded by elastic iris interiorly and lens- zonular-vitreous surface posteriorly as a channel between two plates at variable distance filled with moving aqueous humor. Two different shape of iris-lens channel in the model: (i) when the fluid pressure in posterior chamber is higher than that in the anterior chamber, the iris is pushed anteriorly by aqueous humor and assumes convex shape: (ii) when the fluid pressure in anterior chamber is higher than that in the posterior chamber, the iris is displaced posteriorly towards lens and assumes concave shape. Analytical solutions to the model have been obtained. The computational results of the model have been presented through the graphs and effects of model parameters on the flow variables have depicted and discussed.
