Abstract

Nine okra cultivars were evaluated against yellow vein mosaic virus disease. Arka Anamika, Bhendi Hybrid 8, Shagun and Bhendi S-51 were highly resistant, Varsa Upahar and Okra-6 resistant, Parvani Kranti moderately susceptible, whereas Bhumi Lakhmi and Pusa Sawani highly susceptible with 0.0, 0.0, 1.6, 1.6, 10.0, 15.0, 38.3, 85.0 and 86.6% disease intensity respectively. The disease symptoms appeared in Pusa Sawani, Bhumi Lakhmi, Parvani Kranti and Okra-6, Varsa Uphar, Shagun and Bhendi S-51 after 47, 49, 50, 52, 52, 55 and 55 days after germination, whereas Arka Anamika and Hybrid-8 did not show any disease under natural condition.
