Mungbean yellow mosaic virus (MYMV) and Urdbean leaf crinkle virus (ULCV) the prominent virus diseases of mungbean and urdbean in India. The characteristic feature of ULCV is that it is a seed transmitted virus disease. On the other hand both these viruses are transmitted by common insect vector, Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). When mungbean and urdbean is infected either by MYMV or ULCV the germination percentage, root and shoot length, dry matter production and vigor index were reduced. No seed transmission of MYMV was observed when infected singly or with ULCV. Seed transmission of ULCV was 26.25 and 34.5 per cent in mungbean and urdbeanrespectively, when the plants are infected onlywith ULCV. Seed transmission was 21.13 and it was 26.25 per cent, when infected both with MYMV and ULCV in mungbean and urdbean respectively. Combined infection of MYMV and ULCV does not have any effect on seed transmission of ULCV in both mungbean and urdbean.
