Papaya ring spot disease is causing severe economic loss to commercial orchards in India. In case of phorate application and boron spray combination, disease appeared after 293–301.20 days of planting and yielded 9.12–8.90 Kg fruits per plant after first flowering followed by boron in which case disease incidence was seen after 292.25–297.40 days of planting and yielded 8.92–8.25 Kg fruits per plant. All the seedlings raised in insect proof net were totally free from disease incidence. The papaya plants cultivated in isolated area remained free from disease incidence. There were no papaya varieties tolerant or resistant to disease.
