<p>Dr. Sukhpal Singh Bishnoi was born on April 1, 1957 in village Mangali, District Hisar, Haryana. After his early education in a village school he joined B.Sc. Ag. Programme of CCS Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU), Hisar from where he also earned M.Sc. Ag. and Ph.D. degrees. He went to USA and Israel for higher training. Dr. Bishnoi joined CCS HAU as Asstt. Plant Pathologist in Sugarcane Section of the Department of Plant Pathology as Asst. Plant Virologist. He worked on seed borne diseases of legumes and genetics of resistance. Subsequently Dr. Bishnoi was transfered to the Directorate of Human Resource Management as Dy. Director and then back to the Department of Palnt Pathology as Associate Professor and was later promoted to the position of Professor. Serving on all these positions he was appreciated for hard work, sincerity and honesty. Dr. Bishnoi was the founder member of Indian Virological Society (IVS) and served it selflessly with utmost devotion. During the formative years of IVS he rendered all the services for long time even without occupying any official position. He suffered from jaundice and breathed his last on September 19th, 2003. Dr. Bishnoi will be always remembered by his friends, students and superiors for his many services and his humane quality and heart.</p></sec></body></article></article></body></html>
