Abstract

Indian peanut clump virus (IPCV) is one of the most damaging virus diseases of groundnut in the lighter soil of Rajasthan. Disease intensity is influenced by several factors. IPCV is a soil and seed-borne disease recurring year-after-year and transmitted by a soil fungus Polymixa graminis. It causes crop yield losses up to 60 per cent. Out of five experiments viz. crop rotation with mustard and marigold, soil solarization with 25mm double layer transparent polythene sheet in month of May and June for 45 days, date of sowing (First fortnight of June), drenching of Blitox-50 @ 10 kg/ha in furrows before sowing and sowing of pearl millet @ 100 kg/ha as a bait crop for 15 days, the IPCV incidence was found to be reduced significantly after sowing of bait crop (6.35%) followed by soil solarization (6.66%), drenching of Blitox-50 (8.80%), mustard (10%) in crop rotation and early sowing (10.20%) of groundnut while IPCV incidence was found to be 82 per cent in control.
