S.30. Seroprevalence of Bluetongue virus in goat in Nagpur and Nasik division of Maharashtra State
Abstract
Bluetongue virus (BTV) is an infectious, non-contagious, arthropod-borne (Culicoides midges), viral disease of domestic and wild ruminants. A total of 389 serum samples of goats were received from Nagpur Veterinary College for screening of BTV under ICAR, All India Network Project on BT disease. The serum samples were collected from Jalgaon (79), Bhandara (2), Nagpur (145), Akola (35), Chandrapur (39), Amravati (47), Dhule (15), Nandurbar (3) and Washim (24). The cELISA were used to screen goat serum samples. Out of which 91 serum samples were found positive. The per cent positive serum samples in goats were, Jalgaon (26.58 per cent), Bhandara (100 per cent), Nagpur (32.41 per cent), Akola (22.85 percent), Chandrapur (nil), Amravati (4.25 per cent), Dhule (26.66 per cent), Nandurbar (nil) and Washim (29.16 per cent). The results indicated that the bluetongue antibodies were prevalence in goats of Nagpur and Nasik division of Maharashtra state.
