Effect of leaf extract of Mirabilis jalapa and Asparagus adscendens on the infectivity of bell pepper virus(es) was studied both under glass house as well as field conditions. Data revealed that aqueous leaf extracts at 5 per cent and 10 per cent concentration of both the plant species had significantly reduced the virus transmission in pre and post inoculation treatments besides simultaneous application. Under glass house conditions treatment of Mirabilis jalapa at a concentration of 10 per cent when applied along with inoculum resulted in minimum virus transmission (44.25%) and also all the treatments resulted in recording an increase in incubation period in comparison to control. Extract of Mirabilis jalapa when sprayed at a concentration of 10 per cent also resulted in enhancing the incubation period of 12 days. However, percent disease transmission was maximum (85%) at 5 per cent concentration applied after inoculation. Similarly, aqueous leaf extracts of both the plant species resulted in minimizing the virus disease incidence over control when tested under field conditions.
