Tomato leaf curl virus is one of the most devastating diseases of tomato causing serious threat to tomato cultivation in different parts of India. We have conducted an experiment for the screening of tomato varieties, under natural field conditions, for the incidence of tomato leaf curl virus disease in tomato during Kharif season of 2007–08. Experimental results revealed that the tomato leaf curl disease incidence varied from 25.00 to 94.23 per cent. Minimum disease incidence was recorded in variety Hisar Anmol and maximum in Nandhi. On the basis of these findings, tomato varieties were categorized as resistant to highly susceptible using I to IV scale. Out of a total 22 varieties, screened against tomato leaf curl virus disease, variety Hisar Anmol was found moderately resistant. Three varieties were categorized as susceptible and eighteen as highly susceptible. No one variety was found resistant to tomato leaf curl virus disease.
