Abstract

Gross and histopathological changes in ticks fed on calves immunized with purified Hyalomma marginatum isaaci midgut antigens were studied. Ticks collected from immunized animals were shrunken and lighter than those from the control group. Besides, moderate numbers of engorged dead ticks were also collectedfrom immunized animals. Ticks collected, after 96 h, from immunized animals showed a higher degree of gut cell damage, which confirmed the immunizing potential of midgut antigens.
