Abstract

Hydronephrosis refers to dilation of the renal pelvis and calyces with progressive atrophy of the renal parenchyma and cystic enlargement of the kidneys which results in considerable damage to the renal parenchyma. Primary cause for unilateral hydronephrosis is the obstruction anywhere in the ureter or its entrance into urinary bladder. The present communication describes pathological findings of unilateral hydronephrosis in a slaughtered pig.
