Abstract

A case of hepatodiaphragmatic nodule (HDN) in a Wistar rat aged between 18 to 20 weeks has been reported. At necropsy, liver showed a round mass approximately 0.5 cm in diameter, protruding from the parietal surface of the right median lobe. Microscopically, the nodular portion was continuous with the hepatic parenchyma with a rounded outer contour. The occurrence of HDN, a congenital anomaly in Wistar rats is rare i.e. 0.31% (2 out of 636 animals).
