Abstract

Necropsy of an Indian rock python (Python molurus molurus) died of traumatic injury to the head and thoracic region revealed presence of ascarid parasites in the intestinal tract with associated lesions of degeneration and cellular infiltration into the mucosa and cystic encapsulation of the parasites in the sub mucosa. Pathologic lesions were also encountered in other organs such as liver, kidneys and air sacs.
