Pathology of ovary and oviduct in spontaneous cases of colibacillosis in layer chicken

Abstract

Out of 120 commercial layer farms investigated, 24 farms were found to have colibacillosis with consequent drop in production and mortality. Out of 1645 necropsies conducted, 299 birds had colibacillosis. The serotypes of E.coli isolates from heart blood, ovary and oviduct were O3, O8, O12, O81, O88, O101, O109, O145 and O152.
