Abstract

A rare case of mandibular ossifying epulis was recorded in a seven years old male Doberman dog. The tumour was diagnosed on cytology and histopathological examinations of formalin-fixed tissue samples. Histopathologically, the mass revealed rete pegs of proliferating overlying epithelium, deep seated bony trabeculae and nuclear remnants, and scattered fibrous tissue. The origin of the tumour has been analysed.
