Bleaching powder, a commonly used disinfectant, was experimentally fed to study the pathological effect on pigeon. The treated birds clinically showed ruffled feathers, dullness and depression, gasping, off-fed, coughing and shivering with extreme emaciation. Congestion, haemorrhage, oedema and degenerative changes with necrosis were observed in various organs.
