Abstract

In the present study, pulmonary lesions were observed in 143 (14.14%) goats out of 1011 goats screened at slaughter. Among these lesions, pneumonia alone was encountered in 90(8.90%) followed by pulmonary emphysema in 21(2.08%), pulmonary haemorrhage in 18(1.78%) and pulmonary edema in 14(1.38%) goats. The detailed gross and histopathological examination revealed higher incidence of bronchopneumonia in 69(48.25%), followed by interstitial pneumonia in 21(14.69%) goats. The gross and microscopic changes are discussed.
