Abstract

A male Osmanabadi kid of two month age presented for necropsy revealed hydrothorax, hydropericardium and ascites. Heart showed grey to yellow coloured areas on epicardium and yellow coloured raised areas on endocardium, particularly on both the ventricles covering myocardium. Lung, liver, kidney and spleen showed moderate congestion. Histological section of heart revealed endocardial and myocardial necrosis and mononuclear cell infiltration with calcification. Culture taken from endocardium revealed E. coli.
