The present investigation was carried out to study the spontaneous occurrence of pyelonephritis in buffaloes with possible correlation to haemato-biochemical parameters. 500 buffaloes ranging from 4 to12 years of age were examined for kidney lesions. Representative tissues and blood samples were collected from four buffaloes with pyelonephritis. Buffaloes with pyelonephritis revealed significantly elevated PCV, TLC, blood urea nitrogen and serum total protein. Pathomorphological alterations comprised of disorganization of the parenchyma of the kidneys accompanied with infiltration of polymorphs, macrophages, lymphocytes and fibroblasts.
