Abstract

In the present study, hepatic lesions were observed in 171 (13.48 %) out of 1269 buffaloes screened at slaughter houses. Among these lesions, hydatidosis was encountered in 51 (4.02%) followed by fatty liver (33; 2.60%), haemorrhage (29; 2.29%), necrosis (26; 2.05%), biliary amphistomiosis (13; 1.02%), cirrhosis (8; 0.63%), fascioliosis (6; 0.47%), abscess (4; 0.32%) and tumour (1; 0.08%). Hydatidosis was the principle factor causing the damage to the liver parenchyma and important cyclozoonosis conditions.
