Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken to study the effect of α- tocopherol on chlorpyrifos induced immunotoxicity and oxidative stress in experimental rats. There was significant decrease in log2 value of haemagglutination titre in chlorpyrifos treated group compared to control group and a-tocopherol supplemented group. The CMI against calf RBCs was measured by skin thickness. At zero hour there was no significant difference among the groups. Whereas, skin thickness found to be increased after 24 hrs in chlorpyrifos with α- tocopherol group as compared to chlorpyrifos treated group.
