The expression pattern of tumor molecular marker c-Myc in some canine round cell tumors in Grenada was retrospectively examined. A total of 40 tumors including 19 transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), 14 canine cutaneous histiocytoma (CCH) and 7 mast cell tumor (MCT) were evaluated using immunohistochemical staining for the presence of c-Myc proto-oncoprotein. Nuclear over expression of c- Myc was detected as moderate to strong immunoreactivity in mast cell tumor and weak in TVT and CCH. The percentage of immunomarked cells for c-Myc was 15.8 % for TVT, 14.3 % for CCH and 57.1 % for MCT. The correlation between expression pattern and malignancy or proliferative potential of these tumors was difficult to establish.
