Abstract

A Giriraja cockerel died of severe enteritis was necropsied to determine the cause of mortality. The bird grossly showed remarkable atrophy of right testis which was an incidental finding during post-mortem examination. Histopathological examination of the atrophied testis revealed intratubular seminoma. Further, the tubular septa showed uneven thickening at a few places. The thickening was found due to leydig cell tumour and proliferation of fibroblast. Generally, both the tumours are proliferative, however, in the present case were associated with atrophied testis.
