Abstract

A case of male white calf aged about four and half months was presented with generalized lymphadenopathy characterized by bilateral swelling of pre scapular, parotid and femoral lymph nodes. On cytology, the smears revealed numerous lymphoblasts with scant rim of basophilic cytoplasm, large nucleus and prominent nucleoli and with marked anisocytosis and anisokaryosis. Histologically, the tissue sections revealed numerous lymphoblasts with high nuclear-cytoplasic ratio and clumping of chromatin. Atypical or pleomorphic lymphoblasts and atypical mitosis were also evident. Few cells had multiple or cleaved nuclei. On immunostaining, the neoplastic cells were found to be positive for CD3 and negative for CD79a markers. Based on the above findings, it was confirmed as a case of juvenile T-cell lymphoma in a white calf.
