An adult female Japanaese quail (Coturnix cortunix japonica) carcass on necropsy revealed spherical mass of about 2 cm in diameter attached to the ovary and a cyst filled with fluid in the right oviduct. Grossly, the ovary was granular in appearance and cut surfaces showed various cystic spaces. Histopathologically, ovarian mass revealed variable sized cystic spaces, hair, hair follicular epithelium and adipose tissues. In some areas, cut sections of feather shaft and secretory glands were also seen. Based on histopathological characteristics, the present case was diagnosed as ovarian teratoma and cystic oviduct in Japanese quail.
