Abstract

A study was conducted on dogs suspected for hepatic disorders. These suspected dogs were screened by clinical, laboratory investigation and ultrasound examination. Dogs were diagnosed ultrasonographically with diffuse hepatic parenchymal disorders with ascites. These dogs were further subjected to ultrasound guided biopsy to collect the liver. Cases were finally confirmed histopathologically as chronic hepatitis. Out of 32 cases, mild, moderate and severe chronic hepatitis were confirmed in 10 (31.25%), 4 (12.50%) and 18 (56.25%) respectively.
