A captive Himalayan Griffon vulture (Gyps Himalayensis) aged approximately 18 years was received in the Department of Veterinary Pathology from Sepahijala Zoological Park for conduct of detailed necropsy examination. Necropsy examination revealed mild congestion in lungs and intestine, and pale colour liver. Kidneys were pale, soft and devoid of any other gross abnormality. Microscopical examination of kidney tissues revealed presence of multiple well demarcated and encapsulated mass containing tubules of varying size lined with small mature cells with small nuclei and slightly eosinophilic cytoplasm. The masses were encapsulated by fibrous connective tissue. On the basis of histological findings, the diagnosis was made as microscopic renal tubular adenoma, a rare accidental finding without any gross lesions.
