In the present case, a mare was presented to the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Haryana, which was diagnosed as colic based on the clinical history. Post mortem examination revealed multifocal necrosis in liver, Mucosal congestion of the stomach, distended and impacted caecum with soil and undigested material along with mucosal necrosis. The portion of ileum entering cecum was showing strangulation. Histopathologically, intestine revealed blunting, shortening and degeneration of villi epithelium, fibrotic necrosis leading to rounding of the villi, submucosal hemorrhages and thickening of the muscularis layer of intestine.
