Abstract

Serum of twenty cyclic and thirty acyclic Murrah buffaloes were analyzed for macro elements calcium (Ca), phosphorous (P), micro elements Cobalt (Co), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), total protein and cholesterol. Nonsignificant differences were found levels of calcium and inorganic phosphorus between cyclic and acyclic buffaloes. The levels of Cu and Zn were significantly (P<0.05) higher in cyclic buffaloes than in acyclic buffaloes. The level of Co was found to be significantly (P<0.05) higher in acyclic buffaloes. Total serum protein in cyclic buffaloes was significantly (P<0.05) higher whereas cholesterol levels differed non-significantly between cyclic and acyclic buffaloes.
