The cytotoxic effect of cyclophosphamide was assessed by conducting biochemical tests viz. serum alkaline phosphatase (SAP) and serum arginase (SARG) activity in rabbit. Cyclophosphamide (5 mg/kg, ip) at different time intervals caused significant (P<0.05) increase in SAP and SARG activities in all the groups (2–6) as compared to the control group (1) of rabbits. The study indicate that cyclophosphamide significantly altered the ‘ liver specific’ enzyme SARG together with ‘not liver specific’ enzyme SAP.
