Abstract

The study reports clinical management of uremic calves following obstructive urolithiasis. The uremic calves were maintained for up to four days on peritoneal dialysis before the obstruction was relieved to reduce the blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine levels within the limits where the animal's survival was not threatened. The procedure is recommended for maintenance of uremic animals under field conditions.
