Abstract

Clinico-therapeutic studies were made on 67 clinical cases of babesiosis in cattle of Palam Valley in Himachal Pradesh. The incidence of the disease was 1.02% and it was highest in rainy season (59.68%) in animals of 4–6 years of age. Clinically, the affected animals showed anorexia, suspended rumination, dullness, weakness, diarrhoea, coffee coloured urine, pyrexia, tachycardia and polypnoea. Treatment with combined therapy comprising berenil, haematinics and liver tonic with B-complex was effective.
