Abstract

The study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of most commonly used anthelmintic i.e. Fenbendazole. The parasitic load was assessed individually in four categories of captive animals such as herbivores, carnivores, primates and birds in the terms of Eggs per gram (EPG) obtained after quantitative examination of faecal sample using Modified Mc Master counting technique. The efficacy of fenbendazole was evaluated on the basis of EPG observed before and after treatment. All the Eggs per gram (EPG) values revealed that Fenbendazole was highly effective against different nematodes of captive animals and considered to be the drug of choice at regular intervals.
