The ophthalmic affections were investigated in 643 dogs region during a period of 16 months in Kerala and the occurrence of ophthalmic disorders was analysed according to the anatomical part affected, the presenting condition, and age, breed and sex of the animal involved. The highest percentage of disorders was recorded in the cornea, with ulcerative keratitis. Chinese pugs had the highest incidence. No sex predilection could be identified and younger age groups had higher incidence.
