Abstract

One hundred (100) buffalo calves up to 3 months of age, of either sex, in the organized as well as the unorganized sectors were screened for diarrhoea, and confirmed by the clinical history and systematic clinical examination. The overall prevalence was 29%, notably higher in the males (38.63%), compared to the females (21.42%). The highest prevalence (39.58%) was recorded from birth up to one month post-partum. No significant changes were seen in rectal temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and body weight, possibly because of the milder form of the disorder.
