Ultrasonographic imaging of the normal canine liver and gall-bladder*

Abstract

Ultrasonography of normal liver and gall-bladder was carried out in 23 dogs. Normal liver and sharp borders had uniformly homogenous parenchyma with speckled echoes. The average liver size was found out to be 7.63±1.48cm. A positive correlation was seen (r=0.67) between body weight and liver size. Normal gall-bladder was an anechoic structure to the right of mid-line. Length, width, height and volume of gall bladder were measured
