Abstract

Postoperative electroacupuncture (n = 6) andelectroacupuncture followed by injection acupuncture (n=6) at acupoints GV-20, ZJV-4, SP-6, ST-40, BL-60 and GB-40 was evaluated for the early rehabilitation of goats after mid diaphyseal fracture of femur. Gross, microscopic and fluorescent studies ofundecalcified ground bone sections showed that the callus was purposeful well organized and the process of endochondral ossification was relatively more advance in the animals of acupuncture groups as compared to those of control group (n~6) where no specific postsurgical treatment was given.
