Different internal fixation techniques for the management of olecranon fracture were evaluated in 18 adult mongrel dogs. After creating short oblique fracture in olecranon under general anaesthesia, the fracture was fixed with stainless steel plate (group1), tension band wiring (group!) and single cancellous screw (group3). The comparision of these techniques on the basis of intra- operative, clinical and radiological observations showed that the technique of cancellous screw application was the easiest, less traumatic, less time consuming and allowed early return of full weight bearing and faster healing and hence was considered best among the various techniques evaluated.
