Abstract

Twenty four long bone fractures including 12 radial and 12 femoral fractures were treated. Four- and six-hole DCP/PMMA plates were used for the repair of radius and femur fractures. Four-hole DCP/PMMA plates for radius fractures achieved osteosynthesis. Whereas, six hole DCP/PMMA plates stabilized fractures of femur healed with callus formation. PMMA plates were superior in controlling osteomyelitis and were also cost effective.
