In the present study, intra-medullary indwelling of a modified Steinmann pin for radius and hemicerclage wiring for ulna was employed for fracture fixation in 12 dogs. Modified Thomas splint was used for 3 weeks as external immobilization. The radiographic studies on 4th, 8th and 12th weeks showed the process of bridging of fractured ends by callus formation without deformity, angulation or any other complication indicating complete bony union. Angiography was performed on 22nd postoperative day, while injecting 7 mL of urografin into the brachial artery. The angiogram revealed establishment of neovascularization to the fracture site and the normal vascular architecture was not disturbed during surgery.
