Corneal suturing: cadaver practice

Abstract

Cadavers were used to get acquainted with ophthalmic surgery, to speed up the ophthalmic suturing technique. In a total 80 cadaver eyes from different animals viz., rabbits (42), horses (4), buffalo calves (8), birds (6) and goats (8) were used. The study revealed that cadaver eyes are best for learning and teaching different corneal suturing and also in cataract surgery.
