A six-year-old Doberman male dog with the history of vomiting from last twenty days and intake of only liquid diet was referred to the department. Examination of the abdominal cavity of the animal revealed pain during palpation of anterior abdominal region. Radiographic examination of the animal exhibited the presence of radiolucent mass in the stomach, while ultrasonographic examination revealed the presence of hyperechoic foreign body in the stomach. Laparotomy was performed under diazepam-ketamine anaesthesia. Gastrotomy was performed and a cloth weighing 4 kg and 3 meter in length with excessive tearing was taken out. Gastrotomy and laparotomy incisions were closed by routine method. Postoperative fluid therapy was continued for six days along with parenteral antibiotics. Dressing of the wound was done on alternate days and sutures were removed on 10th postoperative day.
