Abstract

Six clinical cases of contracted tendons were presented for various degrees of knuckling. Five were Deoni calves and one was Red Khandhar calf. The incision was given under local anaesthesia on the posterior region of the limb. The superficial and deep digital flexors that were adherent to each other were separated and Accordion partial tenotomy was performed on both tendons. The skin wound was closed with silk. The limbs were immobilized with PVC splint (3 cases) and plaster cast (3 cases) for three weeks and wound dressing was made through a window. All the animals showed normal and functional weight bearing and became working draft animals.
