A 15-year-old swan goose maintained by an NGO was presented with a growth on face almost obstructing the vision of right eye for the last one month and since last 3 days growth was increasing rapidly. Upon examination the growth was firmly fixed to the bones of the face. The goose was anaesthetised with 75 mg of ketamine HCl (@ l5 mg/kg b.wt.) and growth was excised. The diffuse growth which appeared to be affixed to beak region was cauterized using CuSO4. Wound was allowed to heal as open wound. Post-operatively, Enrofloxacin 25 mg was given b.i.d. for 5 days and wound was dressed with lorexane ointment. One month after examination there was no recurrence of growth. Histopathology revealed the growth to be adenocarcinoma.
