A domestic parrot aged about 15 years was presented to the department with prolapse of cloaca. The parrot was depressed with ruffled feathers and standing with straddle-legged on the floor of the cage. On examination an egg wrapped in the oviduct and presented through the cloacal opening was marked. The condition was diagnosed as a case of egg binding. The egg was released by surgical intervention. Multivitamin drops and oral cephalexin powder was administered for 5 days. The parrot recovered uneventfully. Proper restraint and surgical procedure was presented.
