A rabbit was presented to the Department of Surgery and Radiology with history of broken right hind limb. After complete clinical evaluation, it was decided to perform amputation of the limb. Preoperatively, rehydration of rabbit was done with 80 mL of Ringer's Lactate solution subcutaneously and meloxicam. General anaesthesia was induced and maintained using combination of Xylazine-Ketamine and Diazepam. The right hind limb was successfully amputated at the level of mid-shaft of the femur. Animal recovered uneventfully.
