A male Saint Bernard dog was presented to the Department of Surgery and Radiology with history of epistaxis for 2 weeks and was refractory to any treatment. Slight head movement induced dribbling of blood. Animal was sedated and packed with gauge soaked in adrenaline or Botropase. Blood tests failed to elicit any significant abnormality. Animal was treated with amino acid hydrolysates, ethamsylate and antibiotics. However, it failed to respond. Rostral X-ray and CT scan revealed abscess in the nasal cavity, which resolved after a course of ceftriaxone injections.
