Abstract

A French Mastiff dog with a history of diarrhoea about ten days back was presented to small animal clinics for investigation. Palpation of abdomen revealed a hard cylindrical mass in the abdomen. Radiographically, gas filled distended intestinal lioops were seen. On a tentative diagnosis of intussusception, exploratory laparotomy was done. Double intussusception involving ileoileal and ileum into the colon was observed. The intussusceptum was necrosed and partial colectomy and partial ileactomy was performed. Ileo-caeco-colic anastomosis was performed. The dog made uneventful recovery.
