A pleuriparous goat aged 5 years with ventro-lateral abdominal hernia of gravid uterus was presented to Nagpur Veterinary College Hospital. Diagnosis was done based on the clinical signs and radiography. Plain radiograph obtained in the lateral position revealed a full grown foetal skeleton entrapped in the hernial sac. Ultrasonographic examination revealed that there was no foetal heart beats. Caesarean section was performed to deliver dead foetus and herniorrhaphy was accomplished. Postoperatively, antibiotic, analgesic and fluid therapy was given. The animal recovered uneventfully.
