Abstract

The study was conducted in 12 clinical cases of tibial diaphyseal fractures in dogs, which were randomly divided into two groups of six animals each (group A and group B). In Group A, osteomedullographic study was carried out using ionic contrast agent, sodium diatrizoate and in group B, by using non-ionic contrast agent, iohexol. The osteomedullograms were taken on 0, 1st, 14th, 30th and 45th day. By 30th day of fracture the establishment of intraosseous circulation at the fracture site was seen. Contrast agent iohexol provided better radiographic density than sodium diatrizoate.
